Multnomah Falls

We had a day packed with adventure on Friday. Our first stop was the Multnomah Falls for a hike to the bridge and free fudge samples...

Brody Crockett...

A little tree hideout on the trail to the bridge...

Wahclella Falls

Our next stop was the Wahclella Falls hike. It was about 2 miles roundtrip and well worth it. Lots of places to skip rocks on the side of the river and a winding path to the falls. Brody had a little bit of trouble keeping his footing but other than that, it was great.

Auntie Amy and the gang...

The cousins talking smack to each other at a little fall along the trail...

Giant slugs and other fun finds along the way...

A couple of bridges to cross along the way...

Skipping rocks...

The reward at the end of the hike. This picture doesn't do it justice but these falls were so strong and powerful...just amazing...

Bonneville Fish Hatchery

Our third stop was the Bonneville Fish Hatchery. What is it with kids and fish hatcheries? It's always a hit. By the way, I highly recommend this spot. The grounds are absolutely beautiful.

Feeding the trout...

Viewing the giant sturgeon...

The kids organized a somersault event on the lawn at the hatchery. This was to be done unison...

Bonneville Dam

Our last stop was the Bonneville Dam...

Slime

We made slime at home today (it was just like the flubber at OMSI sans the color & glitter): Mix together 4 ounces of white school glue and one glue bottle of water. In separate container mix one cup of distilled water (we used tap) and 1 tsp. of Borax. Slowly mix the glue mixture into the Borax mixture. Pick up the gooey slime ball and slowly mix in your hands until it becomes less wet and more firm (there will be a white water mixture left in the bowl that you can toss out). You can see by the look on Zack's face that the slime is pretty gross at first...

They dripped it...

They sliced it...

They patted it and hammered it...

They used cookie cutters to make shapes...

The Wailers at the Zoo

We took all the cousins to see The Wailers at the Zoo and it was, unbelievably, a great success. Many thanks to Aunt Sophie who went down early WITH the twins to save spots for everyone. The twins were amazing and also had fun playing with cousins...

Coop & Zack loved the show and stayed until the very end...Coop even wore his Marley & The Wailers shirt for the event...

Brody danced up a storm until he spilled diet coke on himself and then he was done so Grampy came and picked him up early...

Twinnies cousin, baby Abby was there too...

Willamette River with the Caruso Clan

We spent the day on the Willamette River on Sam & Chrissy's dock. A lot of firsts for Brody: first time swimming in the river, first time tubing, first time peeing off the boat. Kudos to Chrissy Caruso for orchestrating the chaos. What an amazing day.

Let the chaos begin...

Rescuing Ruby for the 2nd time...

Kayaking with DeeDee...

When you gotta go, you gotta go...

Brody went on his first tube ride....

Aunt Judy being escorted over to the dock by all the kids...priceless...
