Kayaking at Cook Park

We enjoyed an evening picnic and some kayaking at Cook Park with the Switzer family.

Brody waiting patiently for his turn.

Grandma Sue enjoyed herself a little too much.

Portland Urban Tour

We were so fortunate to join up with some great friends, the Bjork & Lowenberg gangs, and go on an Urban Walking Tour of Portland. Marggi's mom, Nancy Hamilton, was our tour guide and did a fantastic job of not only giving us the "dish" on Stumptown, but also corralling this most energetic group of boys and girls. Thanks Nancy!
There was some crawling under tables...

There was also some very interesting facial gestures...

One of my favorite parts...the secret door to the secret room at the London Grill.

The fountain in the garage at the Benson. The kids were able to make wishes followed by the boys dunking their heads in the water (yes, just the boys).

Crossing the street was always an adventure...

The "birdcage" elevator in the courthouse.

Sometimes it was best to just sit...

Did you know that there was a cupola on top of the courthouse?
It's hot up there but a very cool 360 degree view...

Nearing the end of our adventure. The whole crazy gang in front of the Pioneer Courthouse.

Tatum telling everybody her favorite part of the tour...

The best quote of the day...at the end of the tour Nancy thanked the kids for joining her and told them that they were her most energetic group yet. To this Anders responded, "is that a good thing or a bad thing?"...it's definitely a good thing Anders!

A.C. Gilbert Children's Museum

Marggi & I took the kids to the A.C. Gilbert Children's Museum in Salem. It was an impressive discovery museum with many nooks & crannies to explore. We each got free passes at our local libraries so it was quite the bargain. And the adventure begins...

A Subway lunch...

Watch out! Woman overboard...

Learning how to write chinese characters...

Ellie did a great job of scanning all of the groceries that Tatum & Brody purchased while Cooper tried to pile as many things as he could into the scale.

The kids played hard in the outdoor play area...even in the 100 degree heat.

The museum was filled with so many different things to see...even Mrs. Frizzle's mouth!

The "bubble room" was definitely favored by all...

Tatum & Cooper wrote on the walls in the "flashlight room"
while Brody and Ellie manned the submarine.

The giant rocking chair...

4th of July Sprained Ankle

Brody sprained his ankle over 4th of July and was a hop-along-cassidy for a couple of days.

Brody eating his bounty after getting the ankle wrapped.

You can still play skeeball with a sprained ankle!

The Zoo with Matteo

Brody and his buddy Matteo took a trip to the zoo.
They had so much fun and saw every last exhibit.

The boys favorite part was the dinosaur exhibit...
